TL;DR

If you're interested in science and how it applies to your life, but don't have much time to read into it, this blog is for you.

Hello!

June 20, 2018 by Lauren Parikhal

Welcome! My name is Lauren and I'm a scientist-turned-writer. I started Science Summarized because throughout my career, I saw that scientists usually don't do a great job of succinctly explaining what's important about their work, or why it matters to non-scientists. I don't know about you, but I find that frustrating, because science is really cool and applies to our daily lives in more ways than we can imagine.

The lack of effective communication from scientists themselves, combined with a growing wave of of fake news and pseudoscience, can make understanding science intimidating and confusing for lots of people. There's so much information out there -- how do we know what's valuable and what's not?

Science Summarized is working to answer to that question. In this blog I'll be simplifying fact-based science and how it's relevant to you, in plain English. To make it even easier to understand, each post will have an upfront summary in the form of TL;DR (too long; didn't read) that tells you what the whole thing is about.
